The City of Gautier had to increase water and sewer rates as a result of Jackson County Utility Authority’s (JCUA) increase to the City for treating our wastewater, and to pay debt service on a $30 million JCUA bond. By law, the City collects the JCUA’s fees as a pass thru to our customers. The JCUA has increased fees 7 out of the last 8 years. The JCUA is a separate entity from the City of Gautier and Jackson County.
